The Residents of the Village
of McCook have experienced one of the lowest crime rates in the Chicago
land suburbs for over 20 years. The Police Department works diligently
with its residents and businesses to make the community a safer
environment to live, raise a family and work. |

|
July 23rd, 1956 will
always be remembered as one of the darkest days of the police dept. On that day Sergeant Robert "Bobbie Bull" Giovannoni was shot and killed in the line of duty over the issuance of a traffic citation. |
